Afternoon all.
OK, so you know how the latest versions of FL Studio have re-introduced the old precomputed legacy effects (eg. Amp, Reverb and Sine FX)? For me its awesome, because I really love the Sine Modulation FX.
Anyway, to the best of my knowledge these Sine FX knobs can't be automated because they are precomputed, and so the sound cuts out every time that you adjust a dial.
Does anyone know where I might be able to get my hands on a sine modulation FX plugin, which would allow me to get these weird sine sounds that FL Studio offers, but be able to automate it too?
I've heard this kind of effect used by artists such as The Orb, Hallucinogen, Shpongle and Younger Brother, and I really wanna get this sound in my own tracks, as it can be nice and trippy if done properly.
I spent a couple of hours scouring the net last night, but had no joy. If anyone can help, please do let me know, I would really appreciate it.
Many thanks.

Re: Sine modulation FX plugin
Wed, December 12, 2007 - 3:07 PMI have the latest version of Fruity Loops (7.0)
but I can't find the Sine Modulation FX you talk about
in the list of Fruity Plugins.
Is it only in the brand new BETA model that was just released?
If not, where can I find it?

Re: Sine modulation FX plugin
Wed, December 12, 2007 - 4:02 PMI think he's talking about the 7.5 beta, or whatever it was.. It was introduced last month, I think it's only available until the end of the month, if that long.. -

Re: Sine modulation FX plugin
Thu, December 13, 2007 - 1:04 AMHi Rick & Tyler, thanks for replying so quickly.
The FX that I'm talking about are not in the list of plugins. This is how they are described in the contents of the Help section :
"Legacy Precomputed Effects
Some of the precomputed effects in the Sampler Channel Settings tab are deprecated in FL Studio and were hidden or replaced by better alternatives. However, for compatibility reasons, FL Studio still supports those legacy effects. To see them, turn on Show Legacy Precomputed Effects in your General Settings window".
If you have a play around with the FX and Sine FX knobs and then you'll understand the type of sound that I'm referring to. You'll notice that although its a cool sound, you can't automate it. I'm trying to find a plugin that will give me this type of sound, but enable me to do some live automation with it too. It makes vocals etc sound kinda "robotic" and trippy.
Cheers
Alex

Re: Sine modulation FX plugin
Thu, December 13, 2007 - 10:46 PMWow, thanks so much.
I used to love all the effects in the precomputed legacy effects.
I was upset that they had 'disappeared' from new versions.
You can get some radical adjustment of samples using the verbs, cutoff, sine wave, the two SINE FX and
the amp settings.
Just take the default kick drum, program five or six notes in a pattern and then start turning knobs to hear how much
you can mangle and alter a sample..
Brilliant...................thanks so much for posting this thread. I"m a very, very , very happy camper tonight.
Fruity Loops just friggin' rocks! -
